Hello glass freaks! We shot this little video awhile ago but just now got around to publishing it. Here at Brainbox™ we’ve noticed a trend…people like to pair old glass with brand new cameras. It’s a fun way to get unique looks at 4K resolution and higher.
We’re always expanding our glass inventory, and we put three of our current most popular vintage sets up against each other. The ever-popular Zeiss Superspeeds, the gloriously old Super Baltars, and the flare-fiends best friend, the Kowa Anamorphics.
Please note the Super Baltars at 2.3 are actually all WFO. Meaning pushed farther open beyond a 2.3. That’s why they are so soft and dreamy looking at that stop. It’s a cool look but they don’t get sharp until around a T4.
Let the criticisms of our testing methodology begin!
